"I went to New York for Easter and All I got was this...

...fashionable ER bracelet around my wrist."

Well, Tyler got more than that, but the highlight , if you will, was our trip to the Mercy Ambulatory Care Emergency Room near Kelly's parents house on Friday. Tyler was having breathing problems due to a cold he was having, and because we've gone through this before and saw his chest retracting as he was breathing, we knew we needed to take some action. Our pediatrician told us he needed to be seen, so we took him in, where he was diagnosed by a doctor, who looked and sounded like the South Park teacher, with either asthma or bronchiolitis. We were advised against driving to Rochester to visit family and based on the treatment he needed, we decided to head home where we could administer his breathing treatments and see his pediatrician.

Saturday morning, Tyler's pediatrician diagnosed him with Mild Intermittent Asthma. It requires no continual maintenance, but appears to be triggered by upper respiratory/bronchial viruses. So, each time Tyler gets one of these viruses, it could potentially trigger his asthma.

On top of all that, we spent FOREVER on the drive home because we hit a nasty snow storm in Toledo. Driving 30mph on a snow covered freeway in single file, is not my idea of fun.

Good news is that Monday's follow up appointment with Tyler's pediatrician went well. His pulse-ox was 99 and he was barely wheezing. He'll continue to get the breathing treatments through tomorrow, and today is his last day on the Prednisolone. I am so looking forward to getting him off the prednisolone...it makes him very moody and very edgy.

For Easter, we grabbed some empty plastic eggs and filled them with candy and hid them around the house, in an attempt at an impromptu Easter for Tyler. He had fun finding the eggs and opening his basket up. As much as it sucked to miss my family in Rochester, coming home was the right thing to do, and Tyler is MUCH better.

I have pics and videos of the last couple days to show you and will post them soon.
