Picture Issue & Tyler Update

Kelly and I have not been able to figure out the problem with posting pictures to the blog. We think we may have reached our global limit on the blogger server, and are looking into hosting the pics on a different site, so you can still see them on the blog.

As for Tyler: He now has is second battle with bronchiolitis, although the doctor is now wondering if this is still the first one carrying over to now. He has had difficulty breathing and has been audibly wheezing (sp?). Wednesday, we took him to the pediatrician and we now have to give him breathing treatments via a nebulizer. The nice thing about this is that we now own the nebulizer and our insurance covered it 100%. We have been giving him these treatments for a couple days and they seem to help.

The problem now is that this could become asthma. If Tyler gets another bout of RSV-induced bronchiloitis, then we were told to consider him as having asthma. Which really sucks. Many things can cause an asthma attack, like physcial exercise and more importantly, a cold or virus, which he gets a lot.

We are re-thinking our arrangements with Tyler's Daycare and are taking each day as it comes. The poor kid will be 14 months old on Monday, and might have asthma now. I have heard that children can grow out of it, and Kelly and I will do our research and work with his pediatrician, should this be the case. I know it's not the end of the world, but he's had so many things happen to him in the last 13 months, that we just feel terrible for him.

In 13 months, he's been to the pediatrics ER 3 times, had rotavirus twice, bronchiloitis twice, countless colds, RSV, Gastrointestinal viruses a couple times, and the list goes on. Our pediatrician says he is a healthy baby, despite what he's gone through.

Also, on the 10th, we met with the Ear Nose & Throat specialist, who was in a bad mood, and we left the office deciding to pick a different doctor. But, it does appear that Tyler will need tubes in his ears to help drain the fluid in them. His inner ears are red, and filled with a pussy fluid, which is not draining properly and causing him to get infected.

We'll meet with the new doctor on Feb 1st, where Tyler will have a Tympangi (audio test) done to see how he's doing.

And here's the lesson to be learned, if there is one: Through all of this, over the last week, Tyler has been in a GREAT mood. He's been fun to play with and is learning so much every day. It's this that helps keep Mommy and Daddy in good moods.

Tyler is learning many words, including "ka-ka" which is "yukkies". He now picks up crumbs he finds on the kitchen floor, shows us, saying "ka-ka" and then proceeds to walk to the garbage can and throw it out. LOL

His favorite food of all time is "shishees", aka, "Fishies", aka goldfish. He asks for them at almost every meal, and even when he wakes up at night from a cough or ear pain.

His brain must be developing faster at this stage, cuz he surprises us all the time with what he says, does, or knows. He's walking more and more, and much faster, too.

He loves to be tickled and he loves the rough stuff. If he's upside-down, he's a happy camper, with a huge smile on his face. If you run up and down the hallway, holding him in your arms, he loves the bouncing of it all.

He can now crawl up the stairs from the basement to the kitchen, and knows how to get himself down from things. He turns and can get himself off the couch now, landing feet first, with a little help.

He seems to me, to be so smart and I am so excited to see what comes next, cuz I know that around 18 months or so, he might learn up to 7 words a day.
