First Ear Infection

To celebrate Kelly's birthday yesterday, Tyler was diagnosed with his first ear infection. Yay!!! The poor kid has been sick so many times since his birth, that we're hoping next year he'll be impervious to everything. At yesterday's appointment, Tyler weighed 18 ounds, 12 ounces. So, he's been gaining weight, which makes us feel good. We could tell that his old friend rotavirus had helped him shed those unwanted pounds....lol, and we're glad to see him getting it back. But, outside of the ear infection and his umpteenth cold, he's doing very well.

He's crawling faster then ever, and he's pulling himself up to his feet whenever he can. He also is becoming even more mobile, always trying to move or see something when you hold him. It takes quite an effort sometimes when he's in my arms. He's talking in baby-talk quite a bit, and he's beginning to learn the names of objects around the house. If you ask him where the light is, when you are in the kitchen, he will look at it or point to it. He also knows the windows, the phone, the clock, the floor, his foot, his toys, the TV, the stars on his bedroom wall, his Boyd Bear, his duckie, and of course, Mommy and Daddy.

He's so much fun to be with, because he's so interactive, He likes to reach for us to hold him, and he also loves to touch us. He'll just reach out to touch our face, or if we're on the floor, he'll crawl over and push up to his feet, while leaning into our body.

And, he will be a roller-coaster fanatic when he gets older. He LOVES to be upside down, and anything where he's lifted or thrown or can jump, brings a huge smile to his face. When holding him, he'll lean back, arch himself as if to say, "Okay, make me go upside down now!" He gets this from Kelly, which makes her happy, because she'll have someone who will actually go on the thrill rides with her someday...I won't...lol.

Oh, and a special congratulations to Kelly's friend Karin and her husband, Mike, on the birth of their first baby! Seeing those pics and videos brought back a lot of memories for me.

Being a father is one of the greatest gifts....

That's the deal for today. Thanks for stopping by!
